About Mr. Vega
Mr. Vega's fascination with the performing arts began with two very influential events that happened when he was about ten years old. The first was the release of the film Star Wars (which he didn't really want to see) and seeing his first live performance at the theme park, Marriott's Great America (which he didn't want to watch because he wanted to go on the rides). Both events captured his imagination and created a passion that continues to this day. Mr. Vega spent most of his teenage years inside a theater, first as a student in high school where he spent more time on stage than backstage, and continued his time in the theatre with his first job as a teenager working on the technical crew in the main theater at Marriott's Great America (it's funny how things come full circle). Using the money he earned from his theatre work, Mr. Vega attended the University of California, Santa Cruz where he obtained his B.A. in Theater Arts/Film Production. Prior to teaching, Mr. Vega spent time working on feature films as a Senior Visual Effects Editor at Industrial Light & Magic where he even worked on, and appeared in, some Star Wars films (see how things come full circle); created award winning lighting designs, and acting in regional theatre productions.
