"The Laramie Project" is a play written by Moisés Kaufman and the Tectonic Theater Project, exploring the aftermath of the murder of Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming. The play is a verbatim drama, meaning it's based on transcripts of interviews conducted with residents of Laramie after the murder, and the play itself is a collage of monologues and dialogues from these interviews. The play explores themes of prejudice, violence, and the complexities of a small town grappling with a hate crime.
